If I close the reflex port of the subwoofer, is there a risk of phase inversion?

Good evening, wanting to get a sound with more control and less turbulence I decided to close the reflex port of my sub.
What aspect of the sound can such a situation affect?
The phase?
The crossovers?
The time delays?
My sub with open reflex port was crossed with the woofers ( 60hz sub and 70hz woofers )...

You should get a flatter in car response, reduction in spl at the port tuning frequency, reduced power handling, you shouldn't need an SSF anymore if you were using one. The sub will behave like it's in an oversized sealed enclosure.

I thought sealed allowed higher power handling. Then again, net ported requires more volume than net sealed, so should power handling not remain about the same?
It typically takes more power for a sub to reach the excursion limits in a sealed box versus the same sub In a ported box. But as the sealed box increases in size the less power the sub would need to reach xmax.

Reading the first comment, I almost thought there were only negative consequences.
In my case, my subwoofer is intended for sound quality.
the box is a 50 liter.
so in this case can i remove the ssf set to 33hz 18db?
what are the improvements i get by removing the ssf?

50 liters before or after port and sub displacement? What sub are you using?

Removing the ssf allows the sub to play lower. In a ported box, playing below the running frequency makes it much easier for the sub to bottom out. In a sealed box, that's not too likely to happen, as long as the box isn't too big and you keep the power within the limits.

Depends on what we mean by power handling. The VC will handle the same amount of power (heat) regardless of the enclosure. Mechanical power handling at and above tuning better in a ported enclosure, below tuning the sealed enclosure has better mechanical power handling.

Not pertaining to this exactly, but as a rock and metal head I require more accurate bass which sealed has, but I will never go back to sealed enclosures as ever since I've gone to ported boxes for subs I've been able to obtain the accurate bass I need and it's so much more efficient and powerful than sealed. It's really all about tuning and box build quality.

From day 1 I have had my 12w7 in a sealed enclosure and loving it. Lately though, I have been getting quite curious as how it will sound in a ported one. I wonder if I will lose some of those tight punchy notes from my 80's library or the kicks of Metallica, Pantera, & Berried Alive. I am getting giddy just thinking about the execution of it all.

Those 12W7 work well in 4ths, in your case for a single 12 it wouldn't even be too huge. Just pay attention to the overall size and it ain't too bad. Below is a 1.5:1 47hz tuned 4th for a 12w7ae-3 that has 24in2^ft of port on the vented side. The response and extension looks great with low delay and nice output.

I love 4ths especially with compatible subs.
