Few Questions from n00b

Hello everyone, I just bought my first car and decided to add in a sub and amp. Its a 12" p.o.s. sub from like 1998 and the amp is a Jensen 3022lx 300watt amp. I'm currently running radioshack RCA's (like 18 gauge $3.99/15ft). I have everything wired correctly, but I think there's something wrong. The LED on the amp stays on even after the car is turned off. All electrical things are powered off. The remote line is connected to the blue/white wire coming out of my JCV KD-S12 headunit. I dont get it. Is it possible that the gate/transistor in the amp is burnt out? Thanks!!!

Unplug the remote wire on the amp side and see if it turns off. If it does, your remote is wired wrong.

do you have a power antana (spelling sux) slot or somewhere that you can hook your turn on lead to ?? If so try hooking it to the power antana!!
