Few questions about comps

And I have the standard setup, amp on seat subs facing back of car, not firing in. IMO, it's not as loud with them facing in the car. Could just be me tho
In a trunk car it mostly never will be louder firing into the cabin since firing back will use the rolloff of the back of the car to fire in. If your blowing a 100 amp anl with that amp why didn't you just put a 150 in to start with. I used a 150 anl under the hood with 2 jl 1000/1s and a 300/4 and never had one problem. And those jls pull a shitlad more current than yours. Did u use a dmm to set your gains right? Seems weird to me

Well when I hooked it up the only anl I had was 200 so I figured **** it. Gains are good now. And set properly. Running 2 se, the new ones, and I love em. Off topic, as much as everybody hates the new re series, I love em, and they take the power like a champ. Deff didn't blow any anl fuses, just agu. I might be thinking I had 100 agu, but then remembered the problem was, there wasn't any 100 agu? Or just hard to find? So just went with anl

ahh, yea i have a 150 under the hood, split in back by a non fused distribution 1/0 in and 3- 4ga out...

so what was your question again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

i got lost

Lol Its all good. Basically I'm new to comps. I wanna get into em but am more concerned about what I'm hitting. So, what class, and how to find out, other than a tl, cuz that's not the easiest thing to find. What music? Like real music? Any music? Or is it specific testers?

Just starting to get into competitions and curious how it is. I have no idea what I'll hit, so what class do I enter? What music is used? Anything or only certain things? R u in the car while ur being metered, or u do it from outside? Just a few questions that I looked around for rules, but being that it's something I'm just into, the wording an shit is a little weird

in amateur street, your car is not running and you have to play music, All the other classes your car is running and you can play anything...

In my case I always just used timbalands song elevator.. that frequency is where my cabin peaks at so it works perfect.. I believe you can be in your car, not sure of the rules, but a guy with 2 solo x 18s won the show with a 157 and he was in his truck the whole time, but they seem to change at both shows I competed in, Meca seems to be more laid back and fun of a show than dbdrag,, so its pretty chill..

depending on your enclosure and power Im sure you would be right around 145 if done right.. I had a TL when I was more into it and it is a must when your competing.. You learn so much about your system and what works best for different classes ( bass race especially )

How do I find what I peak at with frequencies? I usually use jeezy, let's get it or thug motivation 101, and it sounds insane. But white girl isn't nearly as loud. Elevators right there with the oter jeezy tho

I found all the peaf fq's of my car with my termlab, same with the music.. As for finding what freq your music is.. I have the best luck just asking ppl in the forums who have a TL

there was a thread with a ton of songs that listed the bassline frequencies for all of them

well i was told by my installer who has been in the audio game for about 16 years, that finding the freq, use a tl, or a rta, and then whatever it peaks at, tune the box 10 hz lower?? (i work at best buy, hence the "my installer")
