Few questions about comps

Just starting to get into competitions and curious how it is. I have no idea what I'll hit, so what class do I enter? What music is used? Anything or only certain things? R u in the car while ur being metered, or u do it from outside? Just a few questions that I looked around for rules, but being that it's something I'm just into, the wording an shit is a little weird

Right now I'm just runnin 2 12 re se/x with autotrk mm1 1500.1. Jl vrs in the door, alpine 6x9. No cpmonents or speaker amps. Deff spl setup. It's in a trunk to. 04 cavalier. Don't expect it to be nuts, and actually more interested in what DBS I'll hit, and finish my setup, then compete. Like I said tho, for now I'm more Into what I'll hit

with that little power id start out in like AS2...which is a tough class with people doing 145's in...hell maybe more I haven't checked the latest scores. My gf used to compete in that class with here 04 cavalier too....the loudest we got was with subs up and port to the left side with that car.

Ya I don't expect to hit more than 140 somethin, being that it's a trunk. But like I said I have no idea how to find out what class to get in. Is there so

ethin here I can get tested at a comp, and not actually compete? Or an open comp, like anybody welcome, no classes or some shit? Cuz ight now I'm not to into the comp scene as I am knowing what I'm hitting

you should make a thread in the general section looking for someone to meter you. That would be a good start. As far as the meca competitions, if you get there early they hold "clinic's" where you pay 10 bucks to get metered and they help you out with suggestions.

A I made a thread and didnt get a single hit. I'll make another one just in case, but thanks for the help dude. O and still with music, is it anything or how's that go?
well for AS classes it's with music still with the engine off.

you might also want to take a look at the rules at http://www.mecacaraudio.com and see when the next event is in your area. And wait awhile on the responses on your poast, its the middle of the day here and its slow until later on tonight.

My grand am gt I use now just for shows seems to have a similar trunk as cavs. I built area different enclosures back when I was running a single re sx 12 in street a. Best for me was both sub and port back which I did a 143.xx. So you shouldn't have any issues hanging in as2. Just depends on fuse rating, and I've only done 2 meca shows in street. I had a Memphis mc1000d with just your standard fuse ( not split off so. Compete in smaller classes ) so I came in second to a guy that had 3 times the power I had but was in a distribution. Meca sucks if you don't know how to drop your fuses down to a lower class

Ya so I'm figuring I'll hit around there. Right now I'm on stock electrical. I use a duralast gold battery, stock alt, 4 gauge power and grounds, with a 200 amp anl fuse. I was running 60,80, and 100 agu fuses, but I was disinegrating the fuse. Glass shattering, it was bad. I was tryin to do big 3 but it's a ***** on the cavs, and then run 1 gauge power into a distro into my sub amp and eventually a speaker amp
