Just a few questions/problems im running into with my enclosure. Just to give you an idea of my setup, its a vented enclosure for two 15s with my front board slightly slanted.
1) First of all, i know if your vent is too long you can bend it to make an L shape, but my problem is right where my vent begins, i have this annoying little hump in my trunk. So when i start on the length of the vent, it will hit the hump. Is there a easy way to slighty bend/angle my MDF vent so i wouldnt hit that hump. Or is my only option to sacrifice a lose in port area and make my vent 1-1.5 inches less in width?
2) For those of you who have used expanding foam, whats the best kind out there on the market? Does it actually work in keeping your enclosure airtight? I will be using it on the bottom on my front board. Its stuff between my back seat and trunk...and where the boad and trunk meet, i want to apply some there..And on the inside of the car where the seat and board meet apply some there. and in the corners until i feel it is airtight.
3) I heard from where that that if your cuts arent exactly perfect, you could use ducktape or something to that nature to help insure a tightly sealed enclosure.
4) Above, i mentioned how my sub mounting board is slightly angled. Well, the top of the board is angled against the frame of my car. Whats a good product that will bond the MDF and metal frame of my car like none other.
I think thats all my questions as of now...If i think of anymore, i'll be back to post. If no one can answer any of my questions, i really would like for number 1 to be answered.
