Fairlady Trunk Build Log

well i got a bit of work done today. i got the wood frame mostly built. it will be glassed together to the piece that is already in the floor. it will be one piece after doing so. then there will be a second fram which the sub will be mounted in. this whole piece will be bolted down to the floor piece via 6 1/4" bolts. i know this may not be the traditional way to build a fiberglass box, but its how i want to do it. this way if he ever wanted to keep the same style box but change subs all he would need to do is have another top peice built. or perhaps if he wanted to port it, it would be much easier since the top comes off. but after reading up on the type x, its not going to be ported.

thanks man. i hope to get a decent amount done by saturday. i have to get the sub ring positioned properly by atleast friday night because the owner is leaving on a trip and i told him i would have that done. that way he can make sure its the exact angle and whatnot that he wants. so expect progress...and pics as always

Interesting, I was goin to do something similar to my 4 seater T-top 87 300zx with 2 12"s in the rear.

I can't get enough of that newer gen though... mmm mmm mmm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

nice. i'm gonna be doing a sealed enclosure in my spare tire well in a few months. with a hatchback, would there be a noticeable sound difference with keeping the sub pointed straight up or angled like yours? i'm trying to keep mine horizontal because i'm going to put a false floor over it.

sounds good. 2 12's should get pretty loud and a hatch. im thinking this one should sound nice and get decently loud

i dont think there would be much if any difference in sound having it slightly angled. and i do plan on building a false floor as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
