Every sub adds 3db?

Is it true that... You get +3 db for every sub you add then +3db again if you supply that sub with the same power? So if I have one sub at 1000 watts hitting 140 db, I add another sub and supply it with 1000 watts as well I should be around 146 db?

Reason is I am currently running one sub at 2 ohms to 900 watts but once I get my second 12 their going to be at 1 ohm, but only 600 watts a peace (until I can afford new amps). So I am adding 3 db by adding another sub but the power is lower to both. Any difference in sound at all?

this is strictly "Rule of Thumb" this is not always the garunteed case. it depends on the enclosure

It's not adding a sub. It's doubling everything you have. And it never works out right
