EQ level settings

I got a new head unit with a built in 7 band EQ. I installed it and my subs sounded like garbage, no punch at all. I used to get outstanding output with a LOC and a stock head unit with only bass and treble control. What should I set the EQ settings to in order to get the clearest highs and the best bass? On the head unit I can adjust the following; 70Hz, 150Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 2.4kHz, 6kHz, and 12.5kHz. I can also adjust the sub frequency cutoff level, I have the choices of 50,80,115.

What i would do is set the 70 to its highest postition, and set the crossover at 80. 70 hz isn't really THAT low, however. You should save up for a seperate EQ for most flexability

If you have all seven bands at the highest setting, you'll probably get some distortion, so try this.

70 - full

150 - 3/4

400 - 1/2

1khz - 1/2

2.4khz - 3/4

6khz - full

12.5khz - full

I'm guessing that will sound good with almost all types of music. I'm used to having a

10-band EQ so you may just have to experiment for yourself

use yoru ears man that is the best thing . to do just sit in the car and play with the dam thing, that is the only way u would get it right man .each car has it own acoustic. that is what i does do man for real.
