Enclosure build for Koon's single 15"

ngsm13, have you done a suede box efore? Pioneer saturn is going to be ordering the suede offline. Do you have any website reccomendations that have quality suede? Thx so much.

Yeah I've done suede boxes, interior and exterior.

Try out MiamiCorp, I use their Synergy Suede a lot.

Also, are you going to seem the sides? Or make beauty panels? Suede is hard to keep clean as well, so be prepared.

Yea, have one of those lint sticky-rollers on hand to brush it off every now and then.

And im just going to roll a piece around the enclosure starting on the bottom, then the face and around the enclosure until I get back to the bottom and have a seam on the bottom-back of the enclosure...then the sides im just going to lay on and carefully cut along the edges/corners. Might paint the corners of the enclosure white before I do it just incase a seam is slightly imperfect.

If you want, I can tell you a simple technique for side/beauty panels that makes vinyl/suede enclosures look great!

And what would this be? The enclosure only has .5" to spare before it starts touching the sides of the car..

Oh snap.

Well normally I used .25" mdf, tack it onto the side of the enclosure, flush trim it, then put a small roundover on it.

Take them off, wrap them, then attatch them to the enclosure with some Silicone II using clamps or tape to hold them in place for 12 hours to cure. Once done, it's a clean look with no visible seems.

I have also used 1/8" before, but it's rather fragile.

Yea, it's been hard as crap keeping it clean in my shop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif...but it's pretty much spotless right now and will take work to keep it that way

That's good, lol. Those will be needed if youre doing much where this is. And hopefully I'll have the emblem finished up and everything finished tonight.
