Electrical System Question

I have a 2008 Mustang that i will be adding 3 amps in totaling 2400 Watts RMS (2x Alpine PDX-1.1000 and one Alpine PDX-4.100). From the research ive done it looks like my mustang has either a 130 or 135 amp alternator. I dont have the money to get a HO alternator but i can add a second battery if needed. I will do the big 3 upgrade but i dont think that will be enough will it? Also those amps get there peak power at 14.4 Volts how can i get my electrical system to that. Im not sure what it is currently i can not test it because im in Iraq right now but want to have everything i need to do my setup waiting for me when i get home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

big 3, add a second battery and maybe replace your main battery too and you should be all set. your voltage is always changing in the 14.x range theres nothing you can do about it besides an external regulator on your alt but you dont need to go that route dont worry about it.

you can look into a Missing Link Audio harness to help bump you up into the 14.7-14.9 range. Also when I switched to my Kinetik battery my voltage came up from 13.9-14v to 14.2, did the big 3 in 4 ga wire it went up to 14.4. Less resistance in the electrical = better electrical and a battery that is easier to charge than a standard wet cell also helps.

x2

Adding a decent battery to the rear (Kinetik, Stinger, XS Power, BatCap, SPL Cell, Northstar, etc.) connected by the largest run of wire you can afford/want to go with (Id go with 1/0 gauge) making sure to fuse the run on BOTH ENDS before each battery. And upgrade all the wiring under the hood involved with your battery/charging system (Big 3). Then possibly upgrading your front battery would also be a plus...after this you should be set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
