Ebay has got me again. *Rant*

What was his return policy? Not saying you don't know what your doing, but I never accept returns for audio gear. Sucks for us DIYers. I wouldn't even worry about filing a claim w/ eBay, just go str8 to paypal.

...Post a link to the auction for the amp, it could help us give you advice...

already posted the ebay page

it didn't say anything on a return back policy nor did he offer insurance. because he says and i quote "I did not get shipping insurance, since in my experience, car audio equiptment, since it is designed for a harsh environment, and I just assumed it would be tough enough to handle being shipped. " and he didn't even double box the thing. He just used the original box and taped it up

Filing a claim thru paypal will not do anything, they only deal with things when you do not recieve your item. I would just leave him neg feedback and tell him that you will take it away if he refunds you. He has 100% and 141, he will deff do it if he cares at all.

Unfortunately, you are probably out the money. You bought a used amp that carried no warranty. Obviously you knew what you were doing, but we're talking electronics here.

They will look at it as 'If you never hooked it up this couldn't have happened'.

I sell cell phones, and that's more or less how it goes when people break their stuff. Manufacturer defects are covered for 1 year, but they have to be deemed legitimate.

Good luck with this, but I highly doubt you will get anywhere. You bought a used amp with no sort of warranty.

You saved yourself a lot of money, but with that savings you lost the piece of mind that buying a new, warranteed amp would come with.

got nothin to loose by sending it back to him. He more then likely is talking out his behind about " checking" it...Just send it back...if he says that you fried it, ask him what tests, ect he did to determain this...Make him get technical..

have you since replaced your rca's and hooked up your other amp yet? might not be his fualt if your other blows. Imo, i'd find a shitty amp to be a guinee pig //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Honostly, I don't see how it's the sellers fault. This is used audio equipment being sold as is. If the amp was really messed up that bad it would have fried when he tested it. The fact that it fried for you is just a chance you take when you buy used equipment on ebay. Sometimes you get good stuff.. sometimes you get stuff that will blow up lol. Hence why people pay more money to get equipment with a warranty from dealers and such. Even if you dispute it in paypal you are going to have to have prove that in fact it was DOA or somehow messed up before you hooked it up and not a possible installation error. If the guy is willing to work with you, I would just explain to him what happened and the fact that you are running other amps with the same set up. Send him back his amp and get your money back. That is about the best way to at least get most of your money back and try to get something else. I agree that it should have at least been put in another box and shipped with insurance but unless he gives you that option its up to the seller how he wants to ship an object. I mean I have paid extra in auctions to get insurance on items and then them not putting it on there and it being lost... creates all sorts of hell. Anyways, try to work something out with the guy and I think you will be good to go with trying to find another amp.
