Honostly, I don't see how it's the sellers fault. This is used audio equipment being sold as is. If the amp was really messed up that bad it would have fried when he tested it. The fact that it fried for you is just a chance you take when you buy used equipment on ebay. Sometimes you get good stuff.. sometimes you get stuff that will blow up lol. Hence why people pay more money to get equipment with a warranty from dealers and such. Even if you dispute it in paypal you are going to have to have prove that in fact it was DOA or somehow messed up before you hooked it up and not a possible installation error. If the guy is willing to work with you, I would just explain to him what happened and the fact that you are running other amps with the same set up. Send him back his amp and get your money back. That is about the best way to at least get most of your money back and try to get something else. I agree that it should have at least been put in another box and shipped with insurance but unless he gives you that option its up to the seller how he wants to ship an object. I mean I have paid extra in auctions to get insurance on items and then them not putting it on there and it being lost... creates all sorts of hell. Anyways, try to work something out with the guy and I think you will be good to go with trying to find another amp.
