donpisto's '01 Accord Build Log (Alpine, Zapco, TC Sounds)

Didn't get the mids today, probably Monday is when they will come. Monday should be a good day though, because I think I'll get the deadener supplies I ordered and the coaxial wire as well. Tomorrow I'll be out the entire day so I won't get to work on anything until Sunday. I'll either re-run some wires or do some more deadening...Might even have time for both, we'll see.

I told that Biatch to use sheet metal a while ago. It takes Audioholic to tell to you do it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif what does he know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Quit being a wuss with the spectrum. I lay some layers on there.

Is that bucket one or 5 gallons?

Didn't your tracking number tell you which day it would be delivered? They are usually very accurate with their expected delivery date (both UPS and FedEx) in my experience.
I had just checked the invoice so there was not an estimated delivery date, but I checked right now and it should arrive Tuesday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Was hoping it would arrive Monday, oh well.

Lol. You did, you were the first person to tell me, but as you can see I have become less lazy and I'm doing work, amazing isn't it? The buck of spectrum I have is 1 gallon. If I had 5 gallons, I'd go crazy with the summabich.

Turns out tomorrow I have a change in plans so I will be able to work on the car a little bit in the morning.

I'm also in need of blue tech flex and was wondering if anyone know's where I can pick some up. I saw some at Fry's Electronics, but the size I needed came in a kit with a bunch of smaller sized tech flex and I would have needed about 8 of those kits. At 20 bucks each, I'll pass. I'm going to search online but if anyone knows of any sites or stores that would or might carry tech flex in blue, I'd appreciate it.

Reason why I'm looking for blue is because the RCA wires will be black and I want them to stand out since the blue wire is on backorder for 2 months. I can use blue heat shrink, which I still may do, but I think the heat shrink will hinder flexibility more than tech flex.

Even w/ just one gallon, I say you still go crazy w/ it.

I have a gallon on the way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice! I'll probably have some extra sludge activator leftover....you can use what I don't use if I end up not getting more deadener. I'm gonna get my tech flex from parts express, I just don't know which colors to get, I have several in mind. I'll probably order today though.

Nice work man! Some sexy equipment too! But 2 18's > 1 18. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Running 4 amps to 1 sub is crazy.. Wouldnt it be alot more effecient and cost friendly to run 1 or 2 amps?

2 18's in an Accord trunk and still have a fair amount of trunk space would a bit difficult for me, lol. As for going with one amp or two amps, yes it would be more efficient, rather easier to set the gains, or even strappable amps, but how many 2kw or 4kw amps are that aren't current hogs and are shorter than 19"? Wow, now that I think about it, probably a few with that length but the PDX's are very efficient. Also, I would need a matching 4 channel amp. Cost effective, well, probably would have been about the same, but I may have paid a bit less with something else.

On a side note, I really need to get rid of my stock speakers, they sound like total ***.

I had some, DLS Iridiums, but I sold them and will be getting Zapco CK-16.2's. Just a matter of UPS getting them to the shop I bought them from, so hopefully Monday they will be there.
