do you tip on a take out order at a restaraunt?

when i go out its with my girl pretty much all the time. we spend around 25 to 45. i leave around $6 to $8. i love loking at most of the waitress. only when my girl is not looking. its greet im young there young so its good. i do catch a few older guys checking out the young girls. its all good.

I rather like the tip system as I believe it helps aid in better service for the most part. To answer your question, no I would not if I thought their wage was fair. I won't tip a host as I know they get paid more. I also tip on varying degrees depending on situation and service given. I take note and make mental deductions for shitty service. I have even skipped it altogether due to a rude attitude. I also tip because it makes me feel better about me.I said all this by saying I don't tip in situations that you described where a regular cashier is at the restraunt. I thought that would show my reasoning and why I find your Wally World irrelevent.
I just read that a scientific study was done and it was found that those who gave (money, gifts, tips, any service etc) were generally more happy than those who did not. I will search for the link.

Thats completely believeable, I'm a very good tipper depending on where i go.. People that aren't used to tips are very happy to receive them, i know this from giving and receiving.

But are they more happy than those who donate an equivalent amount to charity. I donate to charity because I believe it is a better cause than subsidizing wages.

Oh I know it's true.

Everytime I give my girl's forehead a nice little puddle of sperm I feel real good about myself.

I doubt it matters, I think it mostly just has to do with if you feel like you are helping someone else out and making there life/day more enjoyable in some way (refer to my last post).

take out...nah. at sit downs i will leave a few bucks, UNLESS then piss me off by askin "do you want change?" then in that case i say yes and leave them nothin. if i want to tip you i will, just dont try to push me into it, ya know? -bf

I tip because I am not a stingy low life piece of white trash. But I respect the rights of those who choose not to tip.
INdeed...

I work To-Go at ruby tuesdays occasionally... and I don't expect to be tipped more than 10%... but I appreciate those who do tip especially on larger orders.

It isn't out of the ordinary for us to have plenty of $150-200 to-go orders at lunch daily... and taking all the orders over the phone, making sure all the food is labeled correctly, and named for each person, and then assembling it all, and taking it out to their car for them... is a little bit of service. Especially on a huge order...
