do you tip on a take out order at a restaraunt?

I go out to eat with one guy at random restaurants, and when he tips he gives a flat 5 bucks everywhere...if we go there again they seem to remember every thing he orders from the last time and service is quicker and better. I wish i could tip 5 bucks each time lol.

Never for takeout. They arnt serving anything, so they arnt getting any tip.
