do you tip on a take out order at a restaraunt?

really?
check your MSG for the answer.
I'm unsure how you PMing me a picture of a penis with I Win written on it killed this thread, but i'm confident it did //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Hopefully you get paid to be the ****, and not the hand

Oh and the question you posed about wally world is far from relevant. They make more than a waitress on base pay. The scenario is far from the same. Hence irrelevant.
No, it depends on why you tip.

If you tip because of some social norm...then there is no real argument.

If you tip because of the low wage, then there is. The question is to determine why people tip. You dodged that question in your earlier response.

Perhaps I can put it like this...would you tip the take out person if they were paid a normal wage?

Bunch of cheap bastages making up all kinds of exuses to cheat wait staff. You shoud all be banned.
Actually, I am suggesting we tip all occupations in which we believe the person providing the underpaid, ie waitresses, store clerks, shoe shiners. I am advocating we extend this act to all occupations in which we believe the service provider is underpaid. Kind of like a social welfare, of sorts

Being cheap is completely different than not being a proponent of supporting the drug habits of society's poor.
Exactly, cheap people do not go to the resturant because of the expectations of tipping, as well as they can provide similar foodstuffs at home at a lower cost.

so if i am "supposed" to tip someone who is getting at least minimum wage, what is their employer paying them to do? seems like they already get paid to do their job. you wouldn't tip a gas station clerk for turning on the gas pump.

I rather like the tip system as I believe it helps aid in better service for the most part. To answer your question, no I would not if I thought their wage was fair. I won't tip a host as I know they get paid more. I also tip on varying degrees depending on situation and service given. I take note and make mental deductions for shitty service. I have even skipped it altogether due to a rude attitude. I also tip because it makes me feel better about me.
I said all this by saying I don't tip in situations that you described where a regular cashier is at the restraunt. I thought that would show my reasoning and why I find your Wally World irrelevent.

No, I understand that part. That is why I tip only 10%. If I was to sit down and get full service then I pay 20%. If service is poor then I deduct or in the case of carry out, not at all. So I don't merely donate on title. I am just not of the penny pinching mindset //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
