I dont... and I feel wierd kinda.

I eat at this nice place here locally about once a week and order take out, and the bill is $9.90 and I leave $0.00 for a tip since I'm not actually getting waited on or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

if it were a sit down situation and my meal came with a drink etc etc and was $15-20 then I'd leave a $5 tip without question, but on a take out order I just cant do it!

why would you? you didnt get any service...

most times no.. But when I call a pizza place and order a boatload of subs for my customers, I generally tip 15-20% because I know what a pain in the butt it must be to make 10 subs rather than 2 pizza's! The appreciate it and treat me good when I come in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BUT what I find REALLY annoying is TIP JARS that you see EVERYWEHERE!

if its take out no tip
For people who come in and sit down, normally a couple dollars.. We have plastic forks, plates, cups and normally people will order at the register, although we have no problem actually coming over and taking someones order- Depends on their preference, since we can normally tell whether they would rather be waited on or not. I've worked in this restaurant about 3 years.. Supriseingly, about 10% or more tip when they only pick up an order, not even eat there (Calling in advance and picking up food).

I was THINKING of giving a $2.10 tip but that just sounds retarded...

the head chef actually knows what I want when I walk in, or if I do a phone order he knows its me every time since I order fairly unique burgers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif if thats possible.

I've never seen a penny from a tip jar, we have one and the only tips i will get from inside the restaurant are either from the tables when someone decides to eat-in, or if the customer gives it to me directly or allows me to keep the change. We should get a good 20-40 a night in the tip jar which i've never been entitled to.

Edit: The money given to me directly from customers will normally pay for my food, and depending on who it is, even gas considering i nearly run the restaurant alone.
