Do these pieces make a whole? (system planning)

I'm planning out the system for my Malibu and I'm looking for some constructive input. I'm leaning toward SQ more than SPL, and this is what I've come up with, but if you have some suggestions on how to make it better with as much or less money feel free to suggest. I've always been happy with the JL stuff I've tried and that's why I'm starting with what I know.

Looks like a very solid system with quality stuff. That being said, you could find other product that is as good, and better, than JL at near the same price-point. Rainbow is being sold at unbelievable prices at http://www.audiojunkies.com If I were you, I'd jump and pick up the best set possible in your price range.

looks good. sometimes midbass coming from the rear sounds worse than just leaving out the rear speakers. i'd try leaving them out, then seeing what it sounds like both ways. you might like it better. i personally like to leave the midbass and highs solely in the front of the cabin. this is under the assumption that the extra 2 other than the comps are actually going in the rear.

Yeah, they were just for rear fill. More for back seat passengers than for me. I initially wanted to go with 3 ways up front and leave out the rear fill all together, but I don't have much room for the extra speakers.

Do any of you recommend 3 ways up front? Could I put the woofer in the door and the mids and tweets in a kick enclosure? My footroom is limited as it is.

looks good. . butt id run it all off a different HU
What else would you look for in a head unit?

I like the vr comp set over the xr..mainly because of the tweeters being silk instead of metal...too bright for me....
I'll keep that in mind when I'm listening to them next time.

How about version 2? The changes are Rainbow SLX265's, eliminating the rear fill speakers, and switching to the 300/2.

If somebody could recommend amps of at least the same quality, but for less money, I'm all ears.

I'm going to reccomend ARC amps. JL are not bad, but Arc is the bomb.

Also I'd check out a single W6 instead of W3s, if you're looking for good sound quality.

Oh and X2 on the Pioneer, check out something like Eclipse.
