That's what I did and nothing. It didn't read anything in AC or DC.put the dmm leads on the rca cable's on one of them f.e. the left channel one, then set dmm to read AC, turn vol up to 20, see if u get a reading at all.
I'm testing it by playing a regular ol' music cd at about 20 on the volume and putting the dmm leads between the outer metal casing and the inner pin on the RCA where they connect to the amp.How are you testing the pre out voltage?
Did you try swapping out the HU for another?
shit happens, must been a short somewhere. It's a brand frickin new HU!!!!!!!! How can they be shot?
Yes I do, but right now I need to figure out if my problem is my amp or the HU. I don't see how you can blow a HU's preouts, especially a brand new one with less than 2 hours total playing time. But it makes no sense that I can't read any voltage on these preouts.i have a pioneer and when i turn it to max(vol 30) i get 2.2 volts with a 1 khz 0 db tone. it's clipped though so i back to 29 and get 1.7 volts at the rca cable and set my gain at that volume. hope u see where i'm comin from for hu's voltage and gain setting.
