i have a 98 accord v6 3.0 ltr engine.

stock alt

big 3 in 0awg

rockford t1500

rockford 2awg amp wiring kit

stock battery up front and no batts in the back.

do i need a new alt or just new batteries?

we literally cannot give any advise without knowing the make and model of your car. Depends on how old/big your current alt is.

U need to upgrade ur amp kit....and usually anything over 1500 ems total shouldhave an ho alt imo

how big is your alt? just get 2 good batteries and you should be fine

get a bigger alt, then if you feel you need extra batts you can add them.

never hurts, but I've got a stock 90 a with an extra agm battery in the big with the big three. Drops to about 13 bumping.

that's with about 2.5k (I'm skimpy on electrical I know) But I think you could get away with a batt.

But after about 20 minutes of nonstop bumping it seems to get worst lol.

just change the pulley to make it charge faster.....

It will still only give off so many amps. Granted it will have a higher charge rate at idle, but once you start driving the regulator takes over.
