I have two midwoofers and a sub on the rear parcel shelf in free air. I figure the midwoofers might not need a box as they are being crossed over at 160Hz. I also figure the sub doesn't need a box as it's response matches the cabin gain reasonably in free air.

1. Should I worry about the sub pumping the midwoofers?

2. Will either or all do better with a box? and if so, why?
