Do I need 1/0??

Hey everyone, Im finalizing the details on my system right now and I want to get your opinions...

Since the battery is in the back on my car, would it be ok to use a terminal to dual 4ga power wires to my amps or should I use 1/0 to a distro block? The total lenth of the 1/0 if I did use it would only be about 4ft. I am running a SoundStream Van Gogh 320.4 and a Van Gogh 800.2. I am not sure it would even make a difference in my car because the distance from the battery to the amps is so short.

with those amps i think you could use a 4 gauge and be good. but 1/0 always gives you room to upgrade!

Darren... in my e46...

im running 4ga from battery to distro. a fused 8a for speaker amp, and from the distro block, 4ga to the sub amp. the run is very short.

(i dont have it installed yet though)

running a 1/0 will give you room to upgrade to a bigger amp. Overkill is not bad.. just un necessary.

if u are goin to stay with this set up then what u have is fine...but if i were u i would run 1/0 just for the simple fact of..everyone starts out small and then goes big.. so i would just up grade to 1/0

Thanks for all the help guys, Im just going to use 4ga. If I do upgrade down the line its not a really big deal, I think some of you are forgetting my battery is in the trunk.
