What is the going consensus in regards to software for designing and building enclosure. Are their any that are highly recommended?

What is the going consensus in regards to software for designing and building enclosure. Are their any that are highly recommended?

Winisd is sort of the norm for box designing. Personally I don't use any of them. Unless you aren't designing something that's going to be in a car, it's very hard to get an actual reading. Your car has a resonance frequency that greatly affects the actual response of what your box would look like in a program such as WinISD. Unless you know what that cabin peak is, you can't really make full use of the program. What they ARE nice for is playing around with different numbers to see what changes what. This helps to give a more fundamental understanding of everything that's going on, and, in my opinion, is more important than just plugging in numbers until you find what you want.

Awesome response. That is what I needed to hear. I guess going the route of contacting a box builder and giving hime the Design that you want and let hime work his magic. Thanks for the Help.

No problem. What kind of setup are you doing? There are a few guys that can give you a quick run down of what you need such as myself, @Buck, @RAM_Designs, @pro\-rabbit, @Moble Enclosurs, and a few others. If this is for strictly metering though I would talk to RAM and pro rabbit

F150 with CrewCab 4 door. Looking for a clean install with a couple of woofers under the seat of the rear seats. Lower Power, Higher SQ. I will have to see what dimensions I got to work with. I just got the truck last night so I need to get on it.. LOL

there is no software that i would reccomend to use by itself soley. you need to understand the math behind it also. programs arent always right. winisd is good to model how the subwoofer will react in the enclosure but not in a car.
