Got about 100-120 to spend on a set of 6.5 components. I will buy an amp for them (to go with their specs, so thats not important).

The alpines are sold to my buddy, I'm looking for something with alot of midbass, tweeters can be more laidback, but I dont' really care.

Can be had for a lot less here

I bought them from this store and everything went smooth. Send them 150w a side and you can't be disappointed.

I'm not sure what you mean by too bassy? Remember the 6.5" driver is a mid-bass driver as opposed to a sub-bass driver, so the bass frequencies do not drown out the highs if that's what you mean. I love their mid-bass. Here is a review of the PG's.

When I was in the market for budget comps, I decided against the CDT's because of the mixed reviews I read about them.

It is a well spent $87. Now keep your eye out for an amp that is capable of 150x2 @ 4ohm

good choice, you will not be disappointed! they are the forum "boner" of budget comps for a reason.

for $80 you are going to have to look used. i don't think you'll find anything new that can do 150x2 at 4 ohms.
