Dual 12” 2 ohm kicker comp r setup, which amp should I get (listed below)

I have been eying some nice skar amps and can't decide what amp to get with what wattage. The two kicker comp r's have a rms of 1000w and peak of 2000w. I'm between the skar RP-1200.1d amp, and the skar RP-800.1d amp. My friend says they will work perfectly fine with the 800w amp but I am just considering playing it safe with the 1200w amp. (I'm newer to car audio but know the basics, just looking for some help.) I'd just like to mostly just talk about the two amps I listed due to my budget, but you can suggest other options between $100-$200 that I could look at.

No such things as nice skar amps. Better to get one +/-1000w 12" in a proper tuned box than two "500w" in a prefab.
