hell give me a small piece of damp pro, and i cut out an exact piece of v1se2 (the roll i have has been sitting out in my garage through 2 winters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif)

i will stick them to the inside of my engine bay, or hood, since its really hot and in the summer even worst. then i will post pics monthly to show the status of it. now for the record like i said in another thread, not out to bash or make dampiflier look bad, i cant its a amazing product no doubt about it.

but i want to show all the bandwagon nuthuggers that edead is not cheap, and is worth every penny. this review will be biased since its not to bash another company.

eDead IS cheap. Again you are still ignoring that its constraining layer is mylar (worthless) and that there are numerous accounts of it failing. The new shit. The 'good' shit.
How will your little experiment conclude eDead is 'worth every penny'? Because it stays stuck? Are you still claiming you are ignorant to the properties that make deadening mat useful versus useless? A mylar constraining layer is useless and consequently eDead is nothing more than an over priced mass-loading mat that makes you feel better because its "better than nothing". And, are you still claiming ignorance to the fact that eDead is, at best, inconsistent and your one roll of it does not disprove all the other accounts of poor quality eDead they received that did fail?

Id trust you to make an unbiased test just about as much as I would trust Ben Milne himself. Your conscious choice to ignore all the negatives about eDead and focus on what you think it WILL test is advantageously again just shows how willing you are to cast eDead, and eD themselves, in a positive light how ever you can.

Get Damplifier pro and call it a day.
Less layers = less work. I'm am still impressed EVERY time I install only 1 layer of Damplifier Pro on a customer's car... and how much of a difference it makes.

Other brands may be cheaper, but you will need to double up to make the equivalent of the Damplifier Pro...

Truth!

I got damplifier in my car, stuff is nice...

Looks to me that almost everyone like Damplifier, nothing i've read says anything bad about it. Now there were other brands listed and not such great talk and support for them....think about that for a second. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah. Side by side real-world comparisons with these products are very difficult. That is exactly why so many companies like eD and fatmat are able to market/sell an inferior product and get away with it.
I think I've found a way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I've run the tests and now I have to review the results. In any case, it's time we get past the heat tolerance issues - that should be a given. The performance data is a little complicated for the butyl products, but just for the fun of it I ran the same testing sequence on Peel & Seal. All of the butyl products reduced resonance, at least a little. Peel & Seal did absolutely nothing. You can assume the same for FatMat and eDead V1 and all the other asphalt products. The only benefit you could get from one of these would require MANY layers to get some barrier effect or you might get lucky and immobilize a a rattle, but you aren't going to damp any vibrations with it. The only good use for asphalt "deadener" is melting it down to tar and feather the people selling it.

ouch

dang near 50% recommended the SS product. For good reason btw, think about that for a second!
Just to be fair, to prefer one brand or type of anything over another....1) they have to be comperable (eDead and Damp Pro are hardly) and 2) you'd have to have used multiple products to know which you like the best.

Anecdote is around every turn, but sadly it means nothing to the performance and value-oriented buyer.

Having said that, I like Dynamat Extreme cauz the shit's extreme....says right on it.

I will agree with what you said for the most part. I have worked with Dynamat and the extreme, eDead, Fatmat and Raamat. Second Skins is a superior product IMO, the Dynamat would be my second choice.
