Hey just bought this DD sub with a box and a alpine amp. they dude says that it does 143.9DB just wondering is that any good? its a 12" sub (i just started getting into car audio i just wanna learn from the professionals. LOL)

Well cant give u any pics now (im at a mates place.) But Its a 500w Alpine Amp (Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.) i got no clue what brand dd sub it is. and i havent installed it yet i bought it yesterday for $300 NZD

im calling bs sorry. 143.9dbs legal off 500rms isnt going to happen unless it was a burp box in a crx or panda.

Yep! Unless he meant just the DD and sold him an alpine he had laying around...

143.9 would be very hard to do with a single 12 and 500w. I'm guessing it's probably a 1512, based on the power. The 1512's are rated at 450w iirc, but that is underrated. If you have installed this woofer, you probably aren't anywhere close to that score. Not trying to be offensive or anything, it's really more than that setup can produce.

x2 i have a single 3515 on 1k rms and it is barely toching 143 sealed up.
