Dashboard illumination problem

I'm new at installing radios so take it easy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif.

But anyways I'm installing a radio on a galant and I've got everything working. Cept one thing my dashboard lights don't come on. When I looked at the wiring I didn't use there were two one for the lights. But the radio I've got (kenwood KDC MP-242) doesn't have a wire to accept the dash wire from the galant. The wires left after installing everything are...

Mute wire (for blue tooth)

a "not used" blue wire

The other wires are

all of the +, - speaker wires

Ignition wire

Batter wire

and then the Ground

So is this dashboard wire causing the light problem? And if so where do I connect it to?

one of the wires from the factory harness is for dash illumination/dimmer. you know how your factory radio would dim at night when you turned your lights on? make sure any unused wires are taped up or capped. then look for the dash illumination fuse you probably blew. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
