Crossover questions

Im about to install my crossovers, I have CDT EF-61 comps with 560 crossovers

Do these need airspace around them for cooling or can I mount them in the foam in the door?

There is a switch inside that lets me choose -3 0 or +3

what is the difference and which would you recommend?

I know -3 basically cuts the power to the tweeter in half, but will I still want to do this with the tweet right above the mid? If they are the same distance away should I set it to 0?
