crossover location

My question is where should the crossover be put at in the loop of things. I know it would go after the amp but how close or far can it be from the speaker and still do its job I would rather put it in the truck and just tune it all from there but If i have to I can put it in the doors.

Trunk is fine.

Where ever you have room to mount them.

if you are doing door speakers its easier to run one wire through the doorwell than two so i say mount them in the door. But whatever is easier for your needs.

Anyplace you would install an amp. In other words, not the doors... doors can and often do see water.
