Crossover/EQ Question

I own the Kenwood KVT-815 DVD and have not yet installed it. From waht I have been seeing online, it looks as if it lacks a lot of onboard processing. I was wondering what kind of external processing you would reccomend? Thanks.

i think it really depends on what you want it to do. There are processors that do everything, such as the alpine h701, then there are some that only do certain things. The h701/c701 combo is really nice, but its a little pricy. I have the h510, which is good, but isn't worth the money if you plan on going active.

well i have a kenwood unit man, which i am leaning towards something along the lines of an audiocontrol unit. jsut wanted some suggestions

What exactly are you wanting to do with it? Audiocontrol makes good stuff, so I don't think u can go wrong there. It really depends on what exactly you need/want.

well all i have seen is that it offers bass and treble control, and the eq consists of the jazz pop rock type settings

so im just looking for a crossover/eq that i can use along with it

I just got an Audiocontrol unit in, haven't installed it, but I like what it has to offer. They can be a little pricey, so you need to decide exactly what you are looking for.

Are you looking to run an active set up?

If not, get a nice EQ and you should be good to go.

exactly. Do you need a good crossover with slope adjustment as well as an eq?

The only way to make any good recommendations is by knowing what exactly it is you need these crossovers and equalizers to do. I.E....what exactly are you going to be using them for? Are you using an active frontstage, or do you just need a simple highpass for the front speakers and lowpass for the sub? What type of EQ are you looking for...how many bands? Do you want parametric or graphic?

I will not be going active. Just simply need a highpass and lowpass, and a basic eq to go along with it. Don;t need anything necessarily special
