Couple questions from newby.

I am new to the audio scene so I need a couple things answered and straightened out. I am running 2 IK 6.5s and 2 IK 5x7s so I need an amp to push these. I need around 80 watts RMS and the 3 Profile amps I am looking at are around there. I am looking at the HA 1040, the AP 1040, and the CL 640. They are priced 80, 90, and 110 in that order. I don't want to spend too much on an amp right now because I am saving for subs. Now for wiring I plan on running 1/0 gauge wire from the battery to a distro block and then running a smaller wire to the amp. Would a capacitator be a good thing to get also? Then when I get subs I will have it set up for that amp. Does all of this sound right? If not please correct me. Thanks in advance.

dont waste your money on a cap

get a bit of extra 1/0ga. and complete the big three electrical upgrade instead of getting a cap. A lot cheaper, and shite load more effective.

About how much extra wire will be needed to do the big 3? Does my wiring ideas sound right? Thanks.

your wiring plan is fine. You may want to measure because all cars are different, but you should only need about 15ft to do the big three. Most likely less though.

With this distro block would I still need to fuse the battery? Or do I put the fuses in the distro block? What size fuse would be good for that?

You need fuses in the distro and one near the battery for the main line.
