Could someone shed some light for me...

I am somewhat new to car audio and could use some insight. First thing has to do with my 5 channel amp I just installed. Should I use the hpf/lpf settings on my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 headunit, on the amp which is a Kenwood 7005PS 5-Channel Amp or use both x'over settings? I also heard that I should always set the lpf as high as I can? Hopefully someone can help me understand what exactly to do. Thanks in advance...

Do you have a Manual for the HU or Amp on how to hook it up(the amp)?Every HU Ive bought since the late 90s I believe as well as an amplifier has some kind of directions ? Have you read anything yet?

Thats kind of why im asking people on here...manual doesnt tell you jack and im looking for a answer, not a question about my question. Figured people knew

Why don’t you just test it out, and find which works best for you.
I would set the amps lpf/hpf off, and try the head unit, play with the cross overs, then disable them, and engage the amps crossovers, and play with them....find what sounds best to you, and roll with it.
I wouldn’t think you would want to use both the amp, and the head units crossovers, but I don’t know.

id use the decks crossover. set the highpass and lowpass to around 80hz. see how it sounds. fine tune from there
