Complicated(to me) ? about sub wiring

Ok so i have one 4 ohm DVC sub and a two channel amp..........So this is what confuses me.....If i wire the voice coils in series to get a 8 ohm load when i bridge the 2 channels of the amp together that would be like wiring in parallel right? which would make the impedence 4ohms if my thinking is correct(which it probably isnt)

Anyone have any suggestions???

A 4 ohm dvc sub will either give you a 2 ohm or 8 oh load. What brand/model amp are you using?

its an older ma audio amp thats only stable to 4 ohms in bridged mode..... is it possible to wire a voice coil to each channel? but that doesnt seem like that would work bc u would have two different signals coming through the same sub
