Plannin on puttin about 2400 total watts in my cad deville. And I go in local audio shops all the time and ask questions and get others opinons about things. And I went in one shop and told him how many watts I'm puttin in and asked him about the big 3 he said that the big 3 wouldn't be needed b/c I won't be runnin enough watts for its use. And I told him I wanted to get a yellow top and he suggested that I get a red top he said he'd only get a yellow top if I was gettin a HO alt. Do you guys agree w/ him?

No. Do the big 3 and get a yellow top. He might of thought that you weren't running true 2400 watts rms. So in my 2nd question, are you running true 2400 watts?

Big 3 will help even if you are only running 10 watts.

Some amps say 1200 or 2000 (max) watts on it. This rating is crap. If an amp has a max rating of 1200 watts, it might be putting out 300-600 maybe. Give us a link to the amp you are using.

if this is your DD and your only battery, id suggest the red top over the yellow.

and big 3 will help in pretty much any situation.

So is it just this one amp? If it is you won't have 2400w. But like it's been stated, do the big 3 regardless.

Yellow top is a deep cycle and will be a good choice if you plan on depleting the battery often.

Meaning, if you listen to the stereo with the car off for an extended period of time.

The red top has slightly faster charge and discharge times so it a better choice for daily pounding.

That amp and a memphis 4 channel amp.....I think its call mc4.50
