I have a set of 2005 Type R 6x9's that use a passive crossover along the terrible wiring they give from the factory.
Normally i wouldnt have a problem with this, however the wiring is soldered to the crossover box... terrible.
I have been thinking about doing an active setup with my MRP-F240 & my 9853.
I have a couple of questions... first off... would it be worth the effort of going to an active setup as far as sound quality? In my mind, i imagine i would end up with some cleaner high's.
second question... where the hell would i start off for crossover frequencies and slopes?
I was thinking around the 2-3khz range as a 12db/o slope? Am i correct in assuming this would be a good place to start?
Thanks for any info!
