Basically, what makes one Zapco watt sound "cleaner" than any other watt?

BTW, I'm talking true power here. It sounds like you're comparing a "100 watt" Pyramid amp that actually puts out 50 watts vs. a "100 watt" Zapco amp that actually puts out 200 watts...

I think I understand what he was trying to say, that the zapco might have better features than a pyramid, and I think the majority of people here did understnad too. So what you're saying is that if you took a JBL 80.4 and an A/D/S 450.2, you're looking at is a difference between:

• 0.05% THD vs. 0.10% THD
  
• 90 dB signal-to-noise ratio vs. 110 dB signal-to-noise ratio

Knowing those two things, which of these two amps would sound "cleaner?"

we dont have dog ears. We cant notice audible differences between a profile amp and a zapco. period.

Unless your amp is pumping out a 75% THD or some ungodly figure, you're not going to notice a difference. Even then, it wouldn't be a huge difference.

any THD over 2% would be audible to any of us, 75% would be ridiculous, not barely noticable and a S/N ratio of 90, versus a S/N ratio of 110 is a huge difference, 20 DB is a lot.
