Choosing a college

Thanks. My GPA was 3.something and I got a 31 on the ACT
That's a pretty impressive score, you should do fine in engineering school if you focus. College is a pretty big culture shock. For some people who have lived under their parents rules their entire lives it's too much freedom and they end up screwing around and failing out. Just remember why you're there, are you going to college to party or to get an education? Yes you can do both but as an engineer the latter has to be your primary focus.

You may get away with working while you're taking GE stuff, but even then, I don't recommend it. When you start your major courses, I guarantee work will not be an option. I went for comp sci, I was with mechanical and electrical engineering major in the lab all day. Being focused and making sacrifices, personal and financial, is how you excel in these fields. If I were you, I would only work summers.
Meh, I worked through the majority of my EE degree. It was only part time but it's definitely possible. Although there will be a few classes here and there that seem to just **** the life out of you (for me it was differential equations and probabilistic methods).

Thanks man. I have a lot of freedom now. I got my partying done in high school. I really don't feel like doing a bunch of stuff in college. I plan to move with my girlfriend and basically start being an adult. When I have to pay bills, I won't be as focused on car audio. Hell, if money gets tight i may liquidate some of my gear
