I have 2 beretta's both are identical. Since the recently purchased is in better physical condition i swapped dashboards with the one i've been having. Well i got pulled over for running a red light which is complete BS since here in louisiana you can legally take a right-turn on red but anyway the cop checks the registration and it says my beretta is a 4 door???? he gets a wild hair up his *** and checks the vin from the dashboard and then im fuked cuz the vin doesn't match since the dashboard is from the other beretta
i tried to explain and he tells me im a liar and if i don't stop lie'n he was going to arrest me, so needless to say i shut up and a few hours later the tow truck pulls up and hauls my car off

what can i do legal-wise?

How could you not see this coming? Don't you know that the VIN and Plate #s are both used as unique identifiers for each car. So if you switch the VIN between two vehicles that you would cause this to not match the records. Of course this would make the cops suspicious and you rightfully should be towed for being "ignant". Have fun paying the impound/tow company.
