I have 2 beretta's both are identical. Since the recently purchased is in better physical condition i swapped dashboards with the one i've been having. Well i got pulled over for running a red light which is complete BS since here in louisiana you can legally take a right-turn on red but anyway the cop checks the registration and it says my beretta is a 4 door???? he gets a wild hair up his *** and checks the vin from the dashboard and then im fuked cuz the vin doesn't match since the dashboard is from the other beretta

i tried to explain and he tells me im a liar and if i don't stop lie'n he was going to arrest me, so needless to say i shut up and a few hours later the tow truck pulls up and hauls my car off

what can i do legal-wise?

i did stop, i came to a complete stop! i seen the cop in the sideview before i went, i knew he was there i took a legal turn he said that i can't take a right there on red because the white lines extend furthur than the turn, but yet they have white dotted lines in the middle of the street that direct the turn... i wish i had a digi cam to show a pic

there should be a box on the ticket you check saying you wish to protest it and then they will give you a court date....

take both titles down and explain that you are going to do a rebuild. using the best from both cars to make 1 good car. as long as you have both titles there isn't much that can do.(as long as both titles are in your name)

take a picture of the other baretta and the dashboard you removed that matches the VIN number

go to court, present your photos (bring the dashboard?)

and tell the judge you always have driven safe.

That's BS about that stuff, but you should have realized the VIN's were different when you swapped dashboards.
