I am going to want to attend car audio school when i get out of college but i dont know which one i should choose? I am living in tx right now I prefer to go to a school around here but i do not mind to travel. I would like to go to a really good one to teach me things so one day i can open up my own car audio shop. I need to learn everything so i can go to car audio shows. If anyone has any info plz show me the way i was looking into Acoustic Edge in Houston TX but i read on a review that the school is not good. If anyone has been here or knows any good schools plz refer me to them thx.

Actually, im from College Station.... I went to TSTC waco for a degree in Semiconductor physics. If you dont want to mess with Texas A&M (and dont want to pay the stupid high tuition prices) you might consider TSTC waco since its just 80 miles away and its cheap to live there. Id suggest the ELT degree, or Electro-optics... maybe even Semiconductor physics. They'll be 298392 times more worth while later on.

Well i am going to blinn right now in business management & admin I plan on working a real job for like 20 years while doing competitions then eventually opening up my own shop. I plan on going to Sam Houston for my bach. How would i learn getting one of the degrees you suggest be better over the car audio school? i mean they dont teach how to build and fabricate and ect. do they?

PPI and other companies used to have manditory siminars(sp?) that potential dealers had to go to before picking up their products...I wish companies still this..maybe there wouldnt be so many idiots in the caraudio world

how much did you pay and was it worth it?
Umm it totaled out to be a heft amount after living expiences and stuff, but it did jump start my career alot, if your looking to know book studys like how amps fail, how to repair them, common elec problems then go to mobile d.

If you want hands on expiernce and just wanna know how to do the stuff go to snake pit. There a dei school and no1 knows more about remote starts then dei.

The snake pit is now closed or will be closing this year. I have had two employees from mobile dynamics and they didn't know their *** from a hole in the wall. My advice is to find a shop willing to take you on as an intern and learn all you can that way. Mobile dynamics will teach you a bunch of book stuff. Doesn't help you at all when you get into cars and don't know anything about taking them apart. I will never hire another graduate from a school. Like I said the two I have worked with didn't know anything usefull for a real career in installation.
