I dont know what this thing is called or where to find them at could someone lead me the way i am wanting to hook up a sub to my stock system and maybe a 4 channel amp later on.

its called an loc, if your most likely going to keep the stock unit and do a 4 channel and sub i would do a factory oem processor like a 3sixty or h650

line level converter. You can get them at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc

Line out converter...you might want to pick up a RF360.2 as previously mentioned or at the least a bass processor. Previous posters are correct!

I heard a rumour that Alpine V-Power series amplifiers have both RCA inputs and wire jack inputs if you wanna look into them. Don't quote me on it though, I just heard it from someone.

many many amps have speaker terminal leads built in

you can go either way
