I am thinking about using 4 hdc3 12's and 4 aq2200d amps. what kind of power/electrical/wiring will I need. It is all going in a 1994 ford explorer.

why 12's man in s suv. i got a a 93 explorer im putting in a HDC3 18".

less sometime is better to 18 would be sick. say u do to Fi ssds u can run just one 2200d to them and u will get nasty loud. and u will just need a good batt up front with the big 3 up grade. and it will cost u like 500 for the subs 400 for the amp and 250 for the batt and 100 for the wire/big 3..

Well I only have around 8 cubic feet to work with without losing the back seat. Also it being an suv I wanted smaller/tighter bass response. Hopefully it will be a tad bit better sq wise. I know, I know they are spl subs but i figure 4 12's will have better sq than 2 18's Also I think 4 subs look cooler than 2 : )

Why buy a new car so you can just destroy it? i dont really want to flex and vibrate on a newer car.

So what did you calculate as your amperage needs?

If you want SQ you're going in the completely wrong direction. And I hope that 8 cubic foot is counting sub and wood displacement if not you don't have the space for 4 12's. You would probably be better off going with 2 15's and 2 amp's. It's gonna be a little pricey to get your electrical up to par to run 8800rms plus whatever you have going to your front stage.

Yes it is 8 cubes after all the displacements which is perfect for 4 hdc3 12's. I am not looking for sound quality! I do however want it to sound decent and not as sloppy as 15's or 18's. Heres what I have planned so far. I might not need it all but, 300amp alt. Big 3 in zero. Optima red top under hood. Several runs of zero. 4 powermaster d3100 batts.

Your gonna need atleast 4 runs of 1/0 from front to back fused at like 300 or 350 if you can find them, a battery bank of aleast 6 hc 2400/deka intim/ equivalent, of course more would be nice.. A HO alt would be nice. Two would be tittites. At that point a big three in 4/0 would be nice.

Hope you're dedicated to this. Cause even 5000 watts is busting my wallet hard. And Ive been slowly piecing it all together for a while now. If you have a girlfriend thats not into car audio... be prepared to get rid of her. Also be prepared to get a lot of looks from old people, and jealous people that will come out with remarks like " I like a little bass, but thats just obnoxious.

Two hdc and two aq 2200 would be much more economically feasible and still only be "in theory" 6 db quieter
