that amp can only do 300 watts rms for a sub....prob not good enough for a type r. but i think he is just going to run the speakers off the hu for the time being and just get a mono amp, but not positive.

and i have heard good things about kenwood, and crutchfield knows what they are talkin about, so you could go with those speakers
