This seem good?: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19251

Save yourself some money and do the install yourself. Its really not that hard and you will appreciate your equipment more than if you paid someone to do a half-assed job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I DO have a friend that goals to school for car stuff, (since I couldn't do this all alone) and I'd let him help me out, but the last time I did he cut some factory wires on my stereo (long story). He seems to know more on paper, than in practice. Saving money on doing it myself would be kick-***, but the thought of doing something wrong and screwing something up forces me to do it professionally.

i have the same amp and love it...it does 500rms at 2 ohms so if you did get that amp you would want a dual 4ohm type r and wire it at 2 ohms.

i have heard of people giving type r's up to 1000rms each, so if you want to try something more powerful go for it, but that amp is basically made for a single 12" type r.

i got mine for $150 shipped from etronics and got it the NEXT DAY (they are located somewhere near me though). I would use them if i were you.

I don't think that amp would be able to power subs and speakers... in which case, I would need some other type of amp though. Any ideas as to what?

i would do that amp for the sub (as you are correct it is a mono channel amp = power sub(s) only) and then get a 4 channel amp to power your speakers.

i dont think people ever get a single amp to power the sub AND speakers, but i may be wrong.

i would get that alpine amp for the sub (or a hifonics) and then a hifonics 4 channel amp for the speakers, which will only set you back roughly $110

new speakers dont always need an amp. if you get coaxials, you CAN power them just off the HU, but most people amp them just to make them sound better and get louder/clearer, but you dont have to. if you get component speakers they should be amped.

component speakers are alittle more pricey than coaxials. component speakers use separate woofers, tweeters, and have a crossover that comes with the speakers. this sends out the low frequencies to the woofers and the high frequencies to the tweeters, giving them great clarity.

coaxials usually consist of a midrange or woofer with a tweeter over the cone, and dont sound as clear/good as components, and they dont have crossovers with them

oh and i dont mind answering any questions...glad to help man

How does trunk space effect sound? I have a large trunk (compared to some that I've seen that are really small, so in reality it might be normal sized, but for the sake of conversation lets just say it's large //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif ) Would one sub woofer do the trick?

Also, I need to start looking for head units. I'm gonna need a head unit that will be able to power 4 stock speakers in the beginning (which obviously shouldn't be a problem) and then I might decide that I don't think the mix of the stock speakers and the subwoofer, so I'd look into getting maybe 2 component speakers in the back and maybe 2 regular ones in the front.

im not sure about the whole trunk thing, as i have an suv, but i would guess if the trunk was bigger it would get louder cause it gives more room for air movement.

as for a HU, look into pioneer...they make great HU's that are easy to use and look sick. i got the pioneer deh-p3000ib, but if i could choose again i would prob step it up to the deh-p4000ub cause of the higher pre-out voltages

a decent HU should be at least 100 but whats you budget? any aftermarket HU will be able to power stock speakers

yea man pioneer makes some nice hu's.

as for the speakers, i don't know too much about those models, hopefully somone else will be able to offer opinions on them.

i do know that i made a thread a while back for advice on what speakers to get and alot of people recommended phoenix gold rsd's. They said they are cheap (which they are) but are great for the money.

like these:

those are the component model

those are the coaxial model

This says that the Pioneer DEH-P4000UB has a front USB input, yet it's not there on the picture... Is it actually there?

Also, I was talking to a guy on the live chat on crutchfield.com and he recommended these for my back speakers. And for crutchfield, there price is very nice. He said that sensitivity is one of the things you should look for when buying speakers, and these have 90db at 1 watt, which has been higher than some of the other ones i've seen. He also said that his manual for my car said that installing the front dash speakers is going to be hard, so he told me that I should get 5M speakers or 5" speakers rather than 5.25" speakers (which my car has now)

I don't think i'm going to buy from crutchfield though.
