cap/electrical upgrade question

I hear people saying a capacitor is bad and other people saying its good. What is the true answer on this?

I am under the impression it is a personal opinion. Although I have never heard for myself a system with a cap or Big 3 I hear both are helpful. As far as Big 3 I have been to multiple shops that are MECP, CES etc certified an when asked about Big 3 they look at me like Im speaking a different language.

Where can I get a good altenator and 1/0 wire to do the big 3? Is 1/0gau wire the same as 0gau wire?
