cap/electrical upgrade question

If I upgraded my battery would my head lights, ect. still dim? I just looked at my altenator, it is a remanufactured ac delco 102 amp...is this good enough? My amp is 1100.1 @ 1 ohm.

Will my current altenator and battery be sufficient enough for a while cause i'm on a budget and I would rather have my sytem before upgrading for it?
Should work out ok. You should at least do the big 3 though. Even done with 4 gauge wire it will help. 10 feet of good quality 4 gauge wire and a handfull of ring terminals wouldn't cost too much.

Will my lights dim with stock electrical system?
Probably. After doing the big three and changing nothing else, its not uncommon to see the dimming problem go away almost completely. Very cheap upgrade, yet very effective.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

most likely. I have a speaker amp running roughly 400 watts or so to my door speakers, and roughly 1000 or more to my sub and I have a 120amp alternator, with a Red Top Battery and Deka Intimidator and my headlights don't dim. if it's really loud bass and I turn it up, sometimes if my door's open that light that lights up the floor kinda dims, but I've had it in without big 3 or anything since like August. you'll be alright, big 3 would help though

Capacitors are only good when you already have the electrical system built up correctly. Those people who throw a cap in thinking it solves problems, it doesnt.

The correct usage for a cap: keeping an already strong flow of electricity CONSTANT. Those competing in SQ competitions use caps because they need the electrical input to the amps to be as flat as possible to maintain good response.

That is probaly the best explanation of whn to use a capacitor i've ever heard. Well after thinking i'm kind of considering a new altenator...where can I get a good altenator?
