Can you fit a 5 cube box in an '08 Impala?

Well I didnt really wanna spend more than $500 for the sub which is why I am leaning towards a 1 sub vs 2 sub setup. Which is why I want one 18 over one 15. Best bang for buck.

Sundown Audio reccomends a 3cube sealed enclosure for their Z series 18. Whaddaya think?

I think 2 12s is your best option still, and will net more "bang for the buck" then your 18" option will.

For $390 you can get a pair of Skar VVX 12s + a custom ported box. The Skars will definitely hit the lows like you want them to.

You would be much happier with two 12s ported. I had two 15" Kicker CVRs sealed and went to a 15" TC sounds ported and it made a world of difference. Got louder, sounded better and hit way lower. Also the VVX 15 is sold out til the end of March.

If you want the lows and want to get loud and still sound good, go with a ported box.

Skar can either build design and build you the box or you can get somebody else to design you the box and have Skar build it.

I am in the SAME situation. I wanted an 18 too for my sedan. Best bang for the buck. But can't fit them. Unless I do what your thinking of doing. Sealed. But if you want more dbs. Then you wanted ported.

There is a guy on here selling to DC XL 12's for $500 shipped. That is SERIOUSLY a steal. Give it a thought.

if the box is built right. there should be no "boomy" sound

I was under the assumption that because it had more cone area than 2 12s. or a single 15. and Instead of having to purchases 2 speakers. I would have had to purchase just one.

I've seen people fit 18's into an Impalas trunk, on like 8k of power too.. If I'm remembering correctly the Impala has some really good space back there.
But I would also recommend 2 12's.

my impala was that same model and i was able to fit 2 15s ported and it got very loud. and i also had my memphis belle back there.
