Hey everyone,

I am kind of new and all to the audio system lingo...

I was wondering what people's opinion are on the infinity basslink, or the rockwood fosgate bass tube...

I want to install one in my car..not looking for anything huge, but a nice thump...

I have a Toyota Supra 89 hatchback so its a tight spot...wanted something small..I had the bazooka tube and that stunk..

I was thinking of going with a all fosgate system..componets speakers in front, regular ones in back, amp and radio...

whats everyone opinion on this??

thanks for any info you could provide

IMO most powered subs arnt that good. you might wanna get a seperate amp and sub. fosgate does make some good stuff but there is better for da green. what are you willing to spend

i second that...actually the bass tubes and powered subs straight out ****.(just to let u know) and as far as fosgate... I personally don't like them AT ALL. There is just much better out ther efor your money. Tell us ur budget and what type of sound ur looking for (ex: loud, which is SPL or sound quality which is SQ) and we'll help ya out a ton. peace

they all make really good products, and have things within your price range. Just read around, and other people will suggest things. Let us know if ya need anymore...

What kind of system are you looking to build? Do you want to replace everything mids, subs, head unit etc.... or do you just want to add subs? Second are you going for flat out LOUD SPL, or do you want it to sound nice and bump a bit? How much room are you willing to use in your car? And lastly are you going to install the equip yourself? If you let us know that lots of people will come up with ideas for you. And 1500 you can build a SWEET system.

element designs doesnt really have anything to offer soon, to my knowledge, but when they have it out, they'll be the sh*t. Once you look at some more posts, and use the search button a little, give us a subwoofer - HU - amp - speaker price/s and we shold be able to help ya a little more.

Most people dont like RF. but personally i like RF. i had some a while ago and they treated me right, and thumped nice and loud. but thats just IMO. theres better out there, but RF isnt crap.

There is nothing wrong with Rockford Fosgate.

They are rock-solid, and yes, they are expensive, yes, there are better for that kind of money, but I like my Rockfords.

Why buy a ferrari? You could get a ricer with a gazillion dollars worth of stuff and blow the ferrari away...

Heritage....I like my Rockfords. I like 'em rock-solid.

Unless you've tried to be a genius and did something RF told you not to do, yes, it will get hot, but how many tiems will it fail, with proper ventilation? Not much from what I've seen.

Sure, I heard 15 year-old kids rambling on about how hot RF's get and how they seen so many catch fire... bullshit...

I want to sound nice and bump a bit...

Right now I have two cars....One does actually have a good system in it...its from a couple of years ago...its a mitsubishi diamante(winter car)...the speakers are polk and I have components in front and 6x9's in back...I had a kenwood cd player with changer and a kenwood amp hooked up to a 12in JBL sub in a plexi glass box...

My "summer car" is a Toyota supra 89...its got a hatchback and has a targa roof...the problem I have is building a system that allows me to still be able to put the roof in the back which doesnt leave a heck of alot of room.....Yes, I am looking at everything headunit, amps, speakers, sub...I could fit a 10in bazooka tube there..thats about the size of the space...

I'd like it to bump close to what my Diamante has..which is really good...a little less is ok..since its a smaller car...

The front speakers are 4in..so I was thinking of getting components up there...The back speakers are 5in which is wierd, since not alot of speakers come in 5in...so I was thinking of putting 4in back there...would it be good to have components in the back as well?

I think i will probably have it installed..not by me, I would probably blow up the car...I would probably take it some place

thanks for the help..
