Can I make an 8" sub sound good?

Okay, so I pulled apart my trim in my 2001 GMC Yukon XL to check out my factory sub/enclosure. Man, it's odd shaped and tight in there. I'm just curious if I just replace the stock 8" sub with another one and run a different amp for it, if I can make it sound considerably better than stock? All I'm trying to do is upgrade my system to sound good and not comprimise cargo space. I've already upgraded to Alpine SPR-17C 6.5 2-ways in all four doors. I plan to change out the stock head unit with an Alpine CDA-9884 and to finish it off, I'm going to have to do something with that stock sub. Any suggestions?

Keep in mind, I'm pretty much stereo ignorant although I'm a do it yourselfer.

you can only get so much out of the stock location, but a sub upgrade with more power is a start. I saw someone selling a Sundown 8", that would be a nice replacement. Give it 250-400wrms of good clean power and you should be good to go.

You need atleast a 32" sub to sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I was thinnking 4 32" would be sweet! I could put them on a trailer and haul them around.
